Quantum Envoy is a special program from QUIE2T aimed at the dissemination of Quantum Information Science and Technology to a general audience.

A special session will take place in Florence within the framework of the Quantum Information Processing and Communication Conference (QIPC 2013), Florence June 30-July 5, 2013. The session will stage two lectures with ample space for discussion. We will have Prof. T. Pfau from the University of Stuttgart and Prof. P. Kwiat from the University of Illinois.

The session will be chaired by F. Bagnoli from the University of Florence and will take place at the Auditorium S. Apollonia, Via S. Gallo 25, Florence.

The Auditorium is located inside the former Benedictine convent of Sant'Apollonia, which was founded in 1339 and later enlarged in the 15th century. Around 1447 Andrea del Castagno frescoed the end wall of the refectory with scenes of the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, Deposition and Resurrection. The large cloister on two levels is one of the largest of Firenze and dates to the XV century enlargement. The former church of the cloister now hosts the auditorium.
